Recently, the rice molecular design technology and Applied Innovation Team of the Institute of Crop Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in collaboration with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, conducted a whole genome sequencing on 111 representative rice resources.
Based on the sequencing results, the pangenome of high-quality rice was constructed, and the high-quality reference genomes of 9 representative rice populations were obtained, including 5 non-deficient rice genomes. In addition, it is reported that the pangenome constructed in this study is more accurate, continuous and complete with 879 Mb of non-redundant new sequences, as a result of the addition of three generations of sequencing data to the original pangenome, it involves 19319 new protein coding genes (2132 new gene families) .
