The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has released data related to the Chinese auto industry, which shows that the Chinese auto industry is improving and China's dependence on foreign auto products is falling sharply. 

      It is 2023 that the value of imports of Chinese auto goods fell slightly in April compared with March, while the value of exports rose slightly in April compared with the 20232023 of four years in 2022, the import value of China's auto products is declining rapidly and the export value is increasing rapidly. Specifically, in the 2023 of April, imports and exports of Chinese auto goods totaled $23.26 billion, up 24.3 percent from the previous month and up 34.5 percent from a year earlier. The value of imports increased by 16.1 percent and decreased by 22.8 percent, while the value of exports increased by 27.5 percent and 83.4 percent, respectively. Between January and April of this 2023, China's total imports and exports of auto products totaled $88.44 billion, up 13.9 percent year-on-year. Imports were US $23.67 billion, down 26.5 percent, while exports were US $64.77 billion, up 42.4 percent. This shows that foreign cars are no longer“Meat and potatoes”, domestic cars are increasingly favored by consumers.
